What is a "Win Strike Rate"?
Quite simply the percentage of our runs that end with champagne in the winners enclosure! This is the figure you will see quoted on the Racing Post for all jockeys, trainers and owners, and is a vital tool for fair comparisons!
Pompey Ventures have a small, select stable because we have chosen to focus on quality rather than quantity. So, we simply don't have enough horses in training to make the millions the bigger syndicates do. Similarly, although you may see larger syndicates with lots of winners, they also have lots more runners! Therefore the best way to do a fair comparison is to look at win strike rates.
We are incredibly proud of our first year's results, achieving a very successful winners strike rate of 17.54%​​

Tuco Salamanca
Tuco Salamanca wins for the 7th time!
Having to do things the hard way, challenging on a wing, at a track which, over the last few days has very much favoured front runners. Despite that, he once again showed his class and attitude, staying on strongly to land his second £50,000 pot at Newcastle and record a initial Timeform rating of 111 in the process. ​

Street Dancer
Street Dancer absolutely destroys the field at Wolverhampton to win emphatically and break her maiden under Oisin Murphy.
Soon in front, she travelled strongly throughout, putting the race to bed in decisive fashion by over 2.5 lengths. Hopefully this can be the start of an exciting upward curve for her.

Bone Marra
A third win for Bone Marra!
On his return to the synthetic surfaces, he added another victory to his tally under a cool, composed Stevie Donohoe ride.
Bone had to do things the hard way here, but won in impressive fashion and confirms our thoughts that he will continue to progress as a 3 year old.
His All-Weather form now reads: 1121

Dublin Bay wins in good style and claims his third career success at Wolves under an excellent front running ride from Stevie Donohoe.
Breaking sharply, he soon took control of the race and made every yard of the running. He had to dig deep inside the final furlong as the challengers closed, but he kept finding when it mattered and held on gamely for another great win.

Dublin Bay fends off his stablemate, to score his forth career win with a well-backed, "wide margin thrashing" (the commentator's words, not ours!) at Wolverhampton this evening.
Strong in the betting this morning, Marco gave him a superb front-running ride, dictating matters from the outset before powering seven lengths clear to land the money in style.

TUCO SALAMANCA notches up his SIXTH victory on seasonal debut at Kempton, winning impressively under a confident ride from BTK. Timeform ​verdict -"better than ever back on all-weather after 6 months off, impressing how how easily he made his ground; held up, headway on bridle under 2f out, quickened to lead entering final 1f, asserted quickly; he's effective on turf and could well be on his way to the top sprint handicaps." p106+ 👀

BONE MARRA bolts up again! A return to his debut form at the scene of the crime sees Bone bring up his second victory of 2025.
Another tidy victory at Dunstall Park, this time showing he has scope to improve from his mark of 78 as we head into the All-Weather season.
He found the 7 furlongs there no issue and we’re again, delighted for his owners.
