We secured It Dunt Marra at the Goffs Premier Yearling Sale, where the striking son of Royal Ascot-winning sprinter A’Ali was our standout colt of the entire sale.
A full brother to 95-rated Fairy Oak, he immediately impressed us with his strength, athleticism and effortless walk. Despite being a March foal, he was a knockout physical with a very good attitude from what we saw at the sales and we were firmly convinced he was a colt that could compete at a high level.
We headed into the sales ring, accompanied by Oli Bell and the cameras, fully expecting him to become the most expensive yearling Pompey Ventures had purchased.
He was underbid by Amo Racing, who had already outbid us on two previous lots, which was a statement in itself about the calibre of horse the PV team were looking to add to our ranks.
Fortunately, the whole team was in agreement: there was no way we were leaving the sale without him.

It Dunt Marra has since gained valuable experience in Listed company before returning to calmer waters at Lingfield, where he showed plenty of determination to break his maiden under Stevie Donohoe, on his third start.
He travelled prominently, pressing the leaders before taking over inside the final furlong. He did not appear completely at home around the track but he continued to find and was always doing enough to secure his first victory.
His Lingfield success made him Pompey Ventures’ second two-year-old winner in as many weeks and provided another encouraging step in his development. With experience at a higher level already behind him and further improvement still to come, we are excited to see what the future holds.

WINNER
It Dunt Marra powered home to break his maiden at Lingfield under Stevie Donohoe this evening. Back in calmer waters following his run in Listed company, he travelled prominently throughout, and was always doing enough at the finish to secure a well deserved first victory.
