Private sales are a great way of using our network infrastructure in the racing world.
Considering our only private sale to date was Tuco Salamanca - an unraced 2yo Belardo colt who now as a 4yo is rated 99, accrued near 94k in prizemoney and is the 17th highest rated horse the stallion has ever produced (on BHA ratings).
We like to only source horses privately where we feel we have a much bigger edge than when at auction.
And with this lad - we have that edge, as time will tell.
So - we have added a private purchase to our unraced ranks for the 2026 season. Who’s full brother is two from two & looks a pattern class performer on every day ending with a ‘Y’. (We also purchased the half-sister in the Dec Mares sale!)
He will be joining his brother at Craven House, under the care of dual Guineas winning trainer George Boughey’s.
Myself and George have been in frequent discussions about this horse and after a long call this morning, decided to get the deal done.
Physically, George says he is an extremely similar model to Protection Act. He isn’t going to be a ‘whiz-bang’ speedy 2yo, but an individual who adds some class to our team going forwards.
Dave has been keeping an extremely close eye on this horse as he has been at Dave’s Rochestown Lodge stud for the last month and said:
"He will be the best looking horse we've had yet. An absolute NAP...
We have to buy him."
Protection Act was purchased for 160,000gns as a yearling, so we may have even got a bit of value if this lad can follow in his brothers footsteps.
The Dam, Privacy Order, was a Chevely Park mare raced by Sir Mark Prescott back in 2012. Although she herself wasn’t a winner - two thirds of her progeny have won a race, with over 44% of them recording a 90+ RPR.
We are VERY excited to add him to our ranks.
So much so, that there will only be limited availability in him. We are only offering syndication for 25%, as we are keeping a majority, between PV and some of our private clients.
