About George
Since saddling his first runner in 2019, George Boughey has sent out over 500 winners, firmly establishing himself as one of the leading flat trainers in the country.
Now a multiple Classic-winning trainer, George operates from Craven House Stables in Newmarket and continues to compete — and win — at the very highest level. His record includes victories at Royal Ascot, alongside a growing list of Group and Listed winners both in the UK and internationally.
Notably, he became the youngest trainer in modern times to win both the 1000 Guineas Stakes and 2000 Guineas Stakes — a standout achievement that underlines just how quickly he has risen through the training ranks.
Prior to taking out his trainer’s licence at just 27, George built a strong foundation within the industry. He began in the bloodstock sector before gaining valuable international experience in Australia, working with Gai Waterhouse in Sydney and for Lloyd Williams in Melbourne. On returning to Newmarket, he spent six years as Assistant Trainer to Hugo Palmer.
Starting out with just four horses, George has grown his operation into one of the most progressive yards in the country. That upward trajectory was highlighted by his first Classic success with Cachet in the 1000 Guineas, and more recently reinforced with further Classic success at Newmarket in the 2000 Guineas— a clear sign of the level his horses are operating at today.
For us, it’s exactly the type of stable we want to be involved with — ambitious, progressive, and consistently delivering results on the biggest stages.
