About George
One of the most progressive young trainers in Britain, George Scott has established himself as a major force both at home and on the international stage.
Based at Eve Lodge Stables in Newmarket, George has built a reputation as an ambitious, forward-thinking trainer with a strong record of improving horses and placing them well. His willingness to travel when the right opportunity presents itself has become a real feature of the yard, and is an approach that has brought Group 1 success in Britain, France and Germany, alongside major victories in Bahrain and Dubai.
His rise through the training ranks has really gathered pace in recent seasons. In 2025, George recorded his first two Group 1 victories, with Caballo De Mar winning the Prix du Cadran at Longchamp and Bay City Roller landing the Grosser Preis von Bayern in Munich.
Those victories formed part of an outstanding international campaign which saw George crowned International Trainer of the Year in 2025.
The success has continued in 2026. Bay City Roller added a British Group 1 to George’s record with victory in the Coronation Cup at Epsom, while Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe weekend at Longchamp brought another memorable afternoon. Wimbledon Hawkeye struck at Group 2 level before Caballo De Mar successfully defended his Group 1 Prix du Cadran crown, defeating odds-on favourite Scandinavia. It was another major endorsement of the yard’s ability to prepare horses for the biggest races away from home.
International racing has become a real strength of the yard, but there is a huge amount of work behind those results. George and his team plan plan meticulously for overseas targets.
As George himself explains:
“I’m extremely proud of our success abroad – and I don’t put it down to luck. An enormous amount of credit must go to my team, who leave no stone unturned. We plan weeks, sometimes months, ahead to prepare for an intended target. I’m looking forward to our next adventures abroad and will continue to travel the right horses all around the world.”

For Pompey Ventures, George has all the qualities we value in a trainer. He is ambitious, approachable, very hands on and always prepared to look beyond the obvious when planning a horse’s campaign. For us, he ticks all the boxes.
We have known George for some time and are delighted to finally welcome him to the PV training team.
