Willie Mullins needs little introduction. A trainer who has dominated National Hunt racing for decades, he has won just about every major prize there is — from the Grand National, Cheltenham Gold Cup, and King George to the Champion Hurdle in England, Ireland, and France, as well as the Supreme Novice Hurdle and countless Cheltenham bumpers.

Despite such remarkable achievements, the past twelve seasons have been some of the most successful of his career. His horses have delivered outstanding consistency, with the 2022/2023 campaign producing a record-breaking 237 winners from 831 runners.

The following season, 2023/2024, raised the bar even higher. Willie surpassed the incredible milestone of 100 Cheltenham Festival winners, the most winners in a season in Ireland with 254 winners and 183 placed horses, and made history by winning the British Jumps Trainers’ Title — the first Irish trainer to do so since the legendary Vincent O’Brien in 1954.

Patrick Mullins also continued the family success, claiming the Amateur Jockeys’ Championship for the sixteenth time, riding 57 winners and achieving an exceptional 42% strike rate.

And as if these achievements weren’t already enough, Willie Mullins has made history again this weekend with Ethical Diamond charging home to win the Breeders’ Cup Turf at Del Mar. His first-ever Breeders’ Cup victory, this is a truly remarkable feat for a trainer already regarded as the best jumps trainer in the world &  just underlines the sheer depth of talent in the Mullins operation!
