Our first yearling purchase of 2025 is a gorgeous Minzaal filly out of a New Approach Mare. Dave Byrne absolutely loved this filly and we are delighted to add her to our team. She is a filly who certainly has the frame of a good horse, with plenty of size and scope to grow & progress. We noticed Ollie was bidding for her & rather than start a bidding war, we gambled that he was buying purely on spec & it paid off! Ollie has previously bought top end fillies such as Simmering (Group 2&3 winner and twice G1 placed) on spec. He clearly has a good eye!
Minzaal was a classy son of Mehmas with less precocity and more long term scope and development, allowing him to train on and be:
A Group 2 winner at 2 years old.
Group 1 placed at 3yo (only had two starts due to an injury).
Group 3 & Group 1 winner at 4yo.
He was an emphatic winner of the Haydock Sprint Cup and that performance earned him his spot as a Stallion.
This year is his first crop of yearlings going through the sales ring. At the time of writing (pre second day of Goffs Doncaster Premier sale) they have proven popular for a first season sire & have all sold, so far making:

Description
Our filly will head to Ireland straight from the sales, where she will be pre trained by PV partner Dave Byrne at Rochestown Stud, before joining our ever growing team at Manton with Ollie Sangster in January, ready to start her training. This partnership has worked extremely well for us in the past, ensuring we have complete control over her early development, and allowing us, and Ollie, to closely monitor her progression and provide detailed owner updates.
Ollie, who has proven himself an excellent trainer of fillies, with 2nd and 3rd place in the 1000 Guineas this year with Flight and Simmering, was very excited by this filly, and has chosen to keep half for himself, meaning limited shares are available.
