Our third three year old filly of the week was purchased together with Kevin Blake & Ollie, and is another last time out winner.
​

This filly was our Nap of Day 3 and landing her for only a third of our allocated budget felt like a proper result!

​

Lightly raced, by New Approach, she was a filly who took a little time to learn  and find her feet in racing, but the ability was always there.  She showed promise on her third start, finishing just 2¾ lengths behind 80-rated fillies in what was a competitive race. The penny really dropped at Kempton over a mile, where a switch in tactics proved very effective and saw her power home, enjoying passing horses late in the race, and travelling much the best of them.  She picked up nicely to come through and won cosily in the end.

Raised just 4lb for that success, she looks well placed to progress further with confidence now behind her and we all feel there’s more winning to come in the black and blue silks!

Our filly is out of a smart Shadwell mare, who placed second on her last start, beaten just a head in a Listed race, earning her a mark of 104.  She has gone on to produce some talented horses too, with her half brother producing a peak RPR of 94 and her half sister running to 87 whilst in training with Roger Varian.

Ollie has quickly made a name for himself with fillies at every level. He improved PV filly Profit Refused from 78 to 87, winning over £27,000 in prize money in the process.  She recently sold for 80,000 gns, returning a significant profit to her owners. Aside from the PV team, he also enjoyed Classic success this year with Flight and Simmering, who finished 2nd & 3rd in the 1000 Guineas.

At 5,000 gns, we have secured a filly who’s just put it all together: a late learner who has now figured the game out and is on her way to a trainer who excels with fillies.   Sometimes opportunity isn’t about spending big — it’s about spotting something others missed and we think this filly could make her price tag look like one of the bargains of the sale!
